ArtWalk.
I went to the LA Brewery ArtWalk today. It was sweet. A bunch of local LA artists live in the building complex that used to be the LA brewery and they all open up their studios for the weekend.
Dave Lefner's studio/flat is on the list of dream places that I have to live in some point in my life. Just look at that kitchen! They also had a huge wall mirror with this quote etched onto it:
Life has taught us that love does not only consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction. - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Some quirky stuff by Random Nicole.
A piece I liked by Guillermo Bert.
So much talent all condensed into one area.

Misunderstood clouds.
I love cloudy weather. Maybe it's because I grew up in a place where it was sunny 300 days of the year, but maybe it's because I just understand that clouds want us to relax and curl up with a cup of tea and appreciate them for what they are: an excuse to be lazy. Or at least an excuse to not be stressed.
Here are some of my adventures from Spring Break.

Miss you, Kayla Bee!

Feeling a spring in my step.
Because I'm going to Texas to see a dear friend.

I'm ready for fish fries, sun, laughter, classic movies, and wide open spaces. Not to mention a kitchen to cook in and a family to adopt me for the week.

April.

I woke up on April first thinking it was like any other day. My dad calls to check up on some things when he says, very nonchalantly, that they sold the house. It's been on the market for a while so I was instantly excited! My head even began to think ahead about moving all of our stuff, etc. Thankfully, he didn't let me go on for too long. "April fools!" He gets me every year.

Banana. Starbucks. TOMS.
Some of my recent photos.

Would you believe me if I told you that that banana was a dry one? Looks pretty authentic, huh.

This looks like it was taken in Seattle or Portland. I want to go there someday. It was really taken at this awesome Farmer's Market in Hollywood.

The shoe of Biola college students.

Clouds.
"You were made and set here to give voice to this, your own astonishment." Annie Dillard
"You paint the skies for me to see."
The clouds this week have been absolutely incredible. This doesn't happen in SoCal very often. The sky in Colorado always declared His beauty. Something that I took for granted.

Some things that made me smile this week.

Using these.
The colors. Talk about a proud smirk.
Who is the cutest?
Watching Gilmore Girls season 4 for the millionth time and catching, for the first time, Rory reading Atonement in episode 2. (It's not in this clip by the way.)
The beautiful Australian shepherd in Leap Year. (Not in this clip either.)
Awakening.

Dreamy.

Sometimes I wish I grew up in a time when computers weren't so central to our lives. There's a romanticism to searching for a book in the library, a mysterious comfort to picking up a newspaper rather than a mouse to get the morning news. The internet makes life so much easier, but so much less rewarding than from the simple effort we used to put into writing letters. The internet has made living vicariously the only way of living. It keeps us from discovering real life for ourselves; the textures, the smells, the thrill of the find, the adventure real life has to offer. The search for simplicity is rewarding. I find it in the rain.

The Girl (#7)
The real whole song is a musical masterpiece. This is short and kind of pitchy sometimes.
