Summer of TOMS.
Me and my pair of TOMS have traversed the states this summer. From California, to Colorado, to Virginia, back to Colorado, I never go anywhere without them. (so. comfortable.)
1. Fox Run Park in Monument, Colorado.
2. Black Canyon National Park, Colorado.
3. Monument, Colorado.
4. Hiking near Denver. (Yes, I even hike in them.)
P.S. in care you're wondering, they are the blue cord classics. No longer for sale.

Psalm 1.
I want to be like a tree planted by the stream of living water.
Some friends and I went to Pasadena this weekend for a conference and, even though it was cloudy, spring had sprung in full force with beautiful tall trees. Something is growing.
We found a great coffee place full of knick-knacks and treasures.

My favorites.

Vegan.
This is the way to go if you must go vegan (which I have not, by the way).
1-2. The Veggie Grill in Irvine, California.
3-5. A delightful breakfast consisting of the best vegan pancakes in the world and beautiful fresh fruit.

Refreshing.
The weekend was a whirlwind. Lately, I blink and realize that a month has gone by. It needs to stop doing that or I will graduate before I know it. I'm loving this time of life too much to let it go by so quickly. My darling friend came for a long overdue visit and it was just what the doctor ordered (literally. I have a cold). Along with the beach, pumpkin pie, and tea we saw the movie Never Let Me Go. Intensely beautiful.
The October beach is an interesting thing. The clouds drove most people away except for the die hard surfers who wore full body wet suits even though the water is at its warmest of the year. There were some who with wishful thoughts still wore their bikinis and did the whole beach thing, but let's be honest, what good is that for? It was refreshing and thought-clarifying and just "aaaaaah". A breathe of fresh sea air does a world of good.

Fall at school.

This is what everyone has looked like for the past three days in Southern California because we have actually been experiencing some fall-like weather. And it is glorious. Although I really don't think that fall is an excuse to wear Uggs and hoodies all the time, which seems to be the only warm clothing Californians own. Come on, guys. Invest in a nice trench or peacoat and some real boots for a change.

ArtWalk.
I went to the LA Brewery ArtWalk today. It was sweet. A bunch of local LA artists live in the building complex that used to be the LA brewery and they all open up their studios for the weekend.
Dave Lefner's studio/flat is on the list of dream places that I have to live in some point in my life. Just look at that kitchen! They also had a huge wall mirror with this quote etched onto it:
Life has taught us that love does not only consist in gazing at each other but in looking outward together in the same direction. - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Some quirky stuff by Random Nicole.
A piece I liked by Guillermo Bert.
So much talent all condensed into one area.
